premium Cymbidiums from Ibéricas.

With a 'local for local' approach, we not only ensure higher quality for our customers but also help reduce our ecological footprint. Shipping premium potted cymbidiums over long distances is expensive and, in our opinion, no longer sustainable.

Care tips for your cymbidium.

Light

Cymbidiums thrive in bright, indirect light. If you notice the leaves becoming dull, it’s a sign the plant may be receiving too much direct sunlight.

Feeding

Use orchid-specific fertiliser once a month. Follow the instructions on the label for the correct concentration—overfeeding can harm the plant.

Temperature

These orchids prefer cooler temperatures, ideally between 13°C and 20°C.

Encouraging reblooming

To encourage your Cymbidium to bloom again, trim back the stems and move the plant to a cool, bright location, ideally around 12°C. With some patience, new flower spikes will start to develop.

Watering

Once a week, immerse the plant’s root ball in water for about 10 minutes. Allow it to drain thoroughly before placing it back in its pot to prevent root rot.

Caution

Cymbidiums are not edible and should be kept out of reach of pets and children.

Questions and Answers.

Is a Cymbidium an indoor or outdoor plant?

The Cymbidium may look tropical, but it actually thrives in cooler conditions. This orchid is accustomed to surviving on the southern slopes of the Himalayan mountains. Even in cold nights and bright light, the Cymbidium can bloom its mysterious, elegant flowers. This makes it a very resilient houseplant that is well-suited to indoor environments. However, it also thrives outdoors, such as on a terrace or balcony.

Can a Cymbidium rebloom the following year?

Yes, a Cymbidium can certainly bloom again the following year if properly cared for. After blooming, it is important to provide the plant with enough light, regular watering, and occasional feeding. Cymbidiums benefit from a cooler period in winter, with temperatures between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius. This helps the plant develop new flower spikes, allowing you to enjoy beautiful blooms again the next year.
